Coming in Fall 2024, check out our new Study Lounge for tweens and teens! Whether your child is enrolled in a virtual school or following an at-home homeschool curriculum, they are welcome to join our supportive environment filled with friends, accountability, and encouragement.
Our semester “Study Lounge” membership will reserve your student’s spot from 9 AM to 3 PM every Wednesday (15 weeks each semester). This coworking-inspired study lounge is tailored for students entering 5th to 12th grade. Mornings will be spent on core academics (from whatever curriculum you’ve chosen for your child). With a state-certified teacher on hand, your student will receive coaching and support as needed.
Lunch will include a walk, pickleball, or other physical activity. Then, in the afternoon, students can continue with their personal curriculum or join our book club and structured writing class for an additional cost. The final hour of the day will be for passion projects (and include access to our podcasting equipment, STEM resources, and more).
Study Lounge benefits include:
- Access to certified teacher during lounge hours
- Coffee, tea, water provided
- Personalized family interview to identify student needs and strengths
- A variety of STEM, podcasting, art supplies, and more available
- Access to a variety of study areas in our coworking space at 809 Main (no additional adult members present if we have eight or more students enrolled – otherwise, we will meet in the conference room and kitchen)
Schedule (Subject to Change)
Study Lounge Monthly Tuition
The Study Lounge requires a semester-long commitment (4 months) with a minimum of 8 students enrolled for the lounge to be open in the full space. If fewer than eight students sign up, we will utilize the conference room and kitchen area in the back of the building. New students are free to join at the beginning of the month as long as enrollment is not full. Every effort has been made to keep the price low, but please contact me regarding scholarships if needed.

Is this a school?
No, we are a small group tutoring enrichment program for registered homeschoolers. If you have not registered as a homeschooler before, it’s a simple process! In Kansas, you register as a non-accredited private school. If you have more questions concerning registering your child as a homeschooler, feel free to reach out: stacie@convergespace.com
Do you provide all curriculum?
No, we do not. As a homeschool tutoring and enrichment program, we believe parents should choose their children’s core curriculum. Homeschooling allows for freedom and autonomy to choose what works best for your child. While I am happy to share insight and give direction for curriculum choices, you know your child best! Each week, your student will bring from home their reading, math, and any other independent curriculum you would like them to complete during our “core” time together (handwriting, typing, science, reading, etc.). I will be available for one-on-one lessons during that time, as well as providing group lessons if I feel they are needed. I also provide a writing and literature study in the afternoon for those desiring to participate.
Do you give grades?
As a homeschool tutoring and enrichment program, I do not give grades. I do provide feedback on assignments and re-teaching of skills as needed. While our program is a partnership, we believe parents hold the ultimate authority concerning student progress.
Is a multi-age program really effective?
I’m a huge fan of a one-room schoolhouse approach and believe it has many benefits! We recognize that every student learns differently and at their own pace. Within our mixed-age environment, students experience reduced pressure to compete and compare themselves with peers. This allows them to learn without anxiety about “being behind” or feeling bored if they’re more advanced. Moreover, daily interactions with students of varying ages cultivate empathy and compassion, enriching their educational experience with valuable social and emotional growth.
Can you accommodate special needs or behaviors?
Maybe…or maybe not. While I am absolutely committed to meeting each student’s social, emotional and intellectual needs and have training and experience with learning disorders and mild autism, behavioral issues and profound developmental delays fall out of my expertise. If your student has moderate or severe learning issues or behaviors, they will be better served by experts in the field. If you have specific questions concerning your student, please contact me at stacie@convergespace.com.
Behavior expectations are outlined in the enrollment packet/handbook. Our program seeks to provide a safe, peaceful, and structured environment for learning. Consistently unsafe, disrespectful, or harmful behavior is not tolerated.
What should my student bring each week?
- Core curriculum and checklist for the day’s work
- Sack lunch + 2 snacks and a water bottle.
Will staff be vetted?
- As a teacher certified with the state of Kansas, I had an extensive background check in order to receive my certification (renewal was a few years ago with a fingerprint check done at the police station).
- Any additional staff will be vetted and a background check will be done.
- References available upon request.
- For safety of all parties, cameras are installed throughout the coworking and learning studio. Cameras have video and audio capabilities.
Is this a religious program?
- I am a Christian and hold a Christian worldview. As such, I have chosen some curriculum that is from a Christian viewpoint. I will also weave a Christian worldview in our curriculum and discussions. However, I do not require a signed statement of faith and will not be explicitly teaching any particular denominational theology beyond historic tenets of Christianity. We will have a short devotional and prayer at the beginning of each day and prayer at the end of each day.
